Tribute to Louis Armstrong
Saturday, october 12 at 7:00PM
Historic Waxahachie Chautauqua

Join us for a true New Orleans show and hear the history of jazz through the eyes of Satchmo, while simultaneously enjoying the music that made him famous!

Performing musical hits from the Armstrong songbook, Riverwalk Jazz’s performance celebrates the spirit of the great Louis Armstrong and leaves ’em dancing in the aisles.  Their special concert at the historic Chautauqua Auditorium in Waxahachie will be as jazz was intended, performed live and in an intimate setting.  To sweeten the evening, Pokey O's of Ellis County will be on site with frozen treats.

Founded by Texas jazz great Jim Cullum, Riverwalk Jazz starred in NPR’s radio series, “Riverwalk Jazz”, heard on over 165 Public Radio stations nationwide, XM/Sirius and on the internet, and entertained generations of tourists at The Landing on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The Band has been performing since the early 60’s all around the world, and played major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, and hundreds of theaters and major jazz festivals.
